Motivation/Research Problem
Research Objectives
To study the feasibility of using glass fiber reinforcement in 3D printed sulfur concrete for lunar structures
Research Methods/Approach
This project will include three primary tasks:
- utilize glass fiber reinforcement in additive manufacturing of sulfur concrete to evaluate its feasibility in making lunar structures;
- conduct laboratory tests on the reinforced concrete specimens to assess their structural performance; and
- perform finite element analysis to simulate the printed specimens’ structural behavior by accounting for the material properties.
