Research Projects

Modeling Trust in Heterogeneous R3 Human-Machine Teams
Student(s): Dana Bellinger, Julia Spencer, Samuel Mercado
PI(s): Kevin Zemlica

Workers and Technology Together (WATT)
Student(s): Alex Christoforatos
PI(s): Bingbing, Dr. Ho
Some say this coming wave of technology is said to be the dawn of the great [job] displacement; others say we’re a long way away from that level of disruption. The goal of this research is to understand MRF workers’ perceptions and behaviors related to technology in the workplace (i.e. waste management facilities) and uncover a plausible path to human-technology symbiosis.

The Proteus Programming Language
Student(s): Morgan Barrett, Jorge Enriquez, Daniel Barlam
PI(s): Kyle Dewey
The design and development of a Domain-Specific Language that aims to provide a safe, reliable, high-performance language with built-in support for hierarchical state machines. This is being developed with the goal of having the final product be able to fit seamlessly into JPL’s already existing development environments and toolchains for the advancement of embedded real-time systems.
