Lift-Off Year 03

On April 7, 2022, ARCS successfully hosted its 3rd Annual Lift-Off event, an annual celebration that honors student fellows and faculty while highlighting diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEAHM. This year, our event took place in-person and was kicked off with welcoming sentiments from CSUN President Erika Beck and CSUN Provost, Dr. Mary Beth Walker, and Director of Engineering and Science at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Charles W. Whetsel.

Following the guest speakers, a diverse panel of women shared their experiences and the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEAHM. At the conclusion of the event, nearly 150 attendees enjoyed the outdoor venue of The Soraya with some tasty appetizers and walked through the 25+ convergence research projects conducted by ARCS students, faculty and industry partners including NASA JPL, Medtronic, Autodesk and more. ARCS community members and friends asked meaningful questions and provided praise for the groundbreaking research taking place.
